Horses for Lease
Leasing is often the perfect scenario for many parents with growing children, who will need a larger and larger pony each year, or for the individual (adult or junior) who is ready to move up from a part board, but perhaps not quite ready for all the responsibilities of ownership. It is also a great program for individuals who are just beginning to show or for that last show season before college or university, when the prospect of having to sell a horse before beginning school seems daunting. Leasing means the rider has full access to the horse for riding and showing, just as if they owned it. Along with this wonderful freedom the lessee is responsible for all the costs associated with a horse, such as boarding and training costs, show costs, vet and farrier charges and all equipment costs. Most leases are 12 months in duration, during which there is also normally a lease fee (very much like on a car) charged for the horse or pony although occasionally "free leases" do turn up. Some leases can be customized into shorted time commitments. Certain leases will also allow a "buy out" of the horse at the end of the lease term. Lease prices vary depending upon the job the horse or pony needs to perform for its lessee. Some mounts are required to stay in stable during their lease, however, Rocabarra also frequently has many horses and ponies available for out of stable leases.

Winning 3' hunter. Quiet, good moving, auto changing, lovely jumping gelding for lease to approved show home. Has competed at the Royal twice, and won the Junior hunter division in Quebec. Very well broke on the flat and a pleasure to jump. Very fancy winner for the 2'6, 2'9 or 3' divisions!
